Training Excellence
FIT works with a number of training partners in the delivery of Training for Employment and Digital Inclusion programmes. Our primary collaborators in education and training include FAS, Vocational Education Committees, Third Level Institutions, Leargas, Local Employment Service Networks, Area Partnership Companies, Leader Companies, Rapid, Local Authorities and Employment Pacts. The work of these parties is tantamount to the success of FIT and the quality of graduates, for this FIT are extermely grateful to all those involved for their continued collaboration and support.
FIT works with Industry and education providers in developing market orientated curricula and resources which are used for FIT programmes. FAS and VEC's provide training which supports the role of FIT. Thereafter, the job seekers are assisted by FIT in gaining employment through advice and information on labour market trends and developments. Graduates enter the workplace with marketable skills as a result of the high standard of training received as part of their FIT Training for Employment course.
Training programmes are continually updated to reflect market changes. New courses are also being developed and adapted to meet the changing needs of the labour market. FIT is currently researching the development of programmes in the following sectors: mobile technologies, cloud computing, medical device maintenance and renewable energy technologies.
Training providers recognise the value and relevance of what FIT offer students in terms on links with industry, accreditation and helping marginalised job seekers. FIT's ongoing work on the development of new curricula allows for collaboration with VEC's and FAS on pilot schemes in new ares of technology orientated training.
