Youth2Work was developed by Microsoft and FIT just over a year ago as a response to the youth unemployment issue in Ireland.

With a €3 million investment by Microsoft and a target to engage 10,000 youth through training, the initiative is aimed at equipping unemployed youth with in demand skills for the jobs market.

The programme has had a significant impact in year one with almost 2,000 young people availing of training courses. 22% of these are now in either a full time job or further internships following their course, 40 % have gone back to full time education and the remainder due to finish courses and in the placement process.

106 Youth2Work courses were delivered in year one with the support of SOLAS, ETB’s and other training providers around the country. In year two the programme plans to deliver 250 courses with 4,800 places available.

To apply for one of these courses email or call FIT on 1800 815 715.
